Jan is a Swiss illustrator and graphic designer. He studied Illustration Fiction at the Lucerne School of Art and Design and is currently based in Basel, Switzerland.
His work spans editorial and book illustration, poster design, comics and cartoons, graphic design, and a touch of animation. While his drawing skills are strong, he often finds that clarity of concept comes less from detailed rendering and more from a reduced, abstract, or graphic approach. As a result, his work is characterized by a minimalist visual language and a clear presence of the analogue design process.
